A “Chicago P.D.” alum will soon be back onscreen in another police procedural.

Natalee Linez, who had a three-episode arc on season 12 of “Chicago P.D.” as forensics psychologist Val Soto, is joining the cast of the “FBI” spinoff “CIA.” She’ll be a series regular on the new series, which is set to premiere in 2026 as part of CBS’ midseason lineup.

Linez will play Gina Rojas, a CIA analyst. She joins previously announced stars Tom Ellis (Hart Hoxton), Nick Gehlfuss, and Michael Michele. “CIA” centers on Ellis and Gehlfuss’ characters, a CIA case officer and FBI agent, respectively.

The two “must learn to work together to investigate cases and criminals posing threats on U.S. soil, finding that their differences may actually be their strength,” per the official synopsis.

Ellis told TVLine in June that the new series aims to explore why the CIA and the FBI “don’t normally work together.”

“What would happen if you teamed up this experienced field agent from the CIA with this guy from the FBI?” he continued. “It becomes a very productive relationship, but also a very difficult relationship, because they have very different philosophies about how to achieve their goals.”

“CIA” isn’t a true “FBI” spinoff — all the characters are brand new —but it’s set in the same universe. Both CBS shows were cocreated by Dick Wolf, who also created the and the “Chicago” franchise.

“FBI” premiered in 2018. The series has spawned several other spinoffs, including “FBI: Most Wanted” (2020-2025) and “FBI: International” (2021-2025).

Season 8 of “FBI” is set to premiere on Oct. 13. The series stars Missy Peregrym (Maggie Bell), Zeeko Zaki (OA Zidan), Jeremy Sisto (Jubal Valentine), Alana de la Garza (Isobel Castille), and John Boyd (Stuart Scola).

Juliana Aidén Martinez is also joining the cast for season 8 of “FBI.” She previously played Detective Kate Silva on season 26 of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.”
