School or work can get very stressful, and what better way to release stress than participating in the soothing, peaceful experience that is QWOP. Just kidding, QWOP is a great way to build up frustration and will likely make you want to destroy the computer that you’re playing on and all other surrounding computers.

It’s a physics-based game created by Bennett Foddy. The objective is simple: see how far you can run. The controls, however, are anything but simple. You use four different keys on the keyboard to control your thighs and your calves. The best way I’ve found is to alternate between pressing W and O together, and then Q and P together. But honestly, any time I think I have a strategy down, it seems to stop working after a little while. There’s no randomness about it, though; there is a definitive way to do well at QWOP. Good luck trying to find it.

The Impossible Quiz

The Impossible Quiz is quite a famous flash game. It’s cleverly designed in that every answer makes sense, even if it doesn’t really seem to at first. There’s a rhyme and reason to every question and every answer. For example, one of the questions is simply “choose food,” but there is no food option. The correct answer is to pick the teeth, because if you say it out loud it sounds the same as “chews food.” Get it?

It’s not “impossible,” but it certainly is challenging. It’s a great game to play at school because there’s plenty of people around to ask for help, or just straight up ask for the solution. In my school, we literally had a kid who was the guy you went to for answers to The Impossible Quiz. There’s sure to be a guide or two online, but that kind of defeats the purpose of the game, so I implore that you try your hardest not to use one.

Atari Breakout

Breakout was basically the evolved version of Pong. Instead of hitting the ball back and forth, you’re tasked with destroying all of the bricks on screen. We all know it, and we all love it.

However, what you may not have known is that you can play Breakout straight from within Google itself. It’s a neat little trick that has actually been around for a while. All you have to do is go to Google images and search the phrase “Atari Breakout.” After a second or two, the images will transform into little bricks, and a ball and paddle will appear. Neat, right? It can be controlled with the mouse or the directional keys on your keyboard. A cool feature is that once you’ve cleared a screen, it will perform a Google image search of something random for the next set of bricks. I got “Nashville” and “polar bears” on my first go.

The Fancy Pants Adventures: World 2

The Fancy Pants Adventures has a lot more quality than your average flash game. Its excellent animation, sound, and control are on par with games that you’d find on Steam or on consoles. In fact, the game eventually did get released on Steam and consoles, but it can still be enjoyed for free from the comfort of your internet browser.

This unblocked version is the second game: The Fancy Pants Adventures: World 2. You start off your adventure by playing golf with a big shell, before venturing down the golf hole, and continuing on to some platforming goodness. The art style and the fast, fluid movement give off Rayman Legends vibes. It’s pretty lengthy for a flash game, so it may be one to check out if you’re in the mood for some hardcore procrastinating.

Happy Wheels

If you couldn’t get enough of physics-based games like QWOP, then here’s Happy Wheels. In Happy Wheels, you control a character in a wheelchair as you blast through many different obstacle courses. It plays a bit like Trials, but has quite a bit more violence in it. If seeing cartoon characters lose their limbs in the most painful ways possible is something that you’d enjoy, then Happy Wheels is the game for you.

The unblocked version is just the demo version, but there’s plenty to do in it to keep you busy. It comes with ten built-in levels that you can replay with different characters, and try to get high scores. There’s also a level editor where you can create your own levels. You can create fun obstacle courses, or see how much pain you can inflict on these poor fictional beings.
